Goodgym runners and Bexley Mencap run to help the Greenwich and Bexley Hospice

Bexley Goodgym managed a great run and walk out to help their friends at Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice. Bexley Mencap members who were originally part of a RunTogether running and keep fit group are now regular weekly volunteers with Bexley GoodGym.

It was the running group's goal to do the longer loop and beat the power walkers (who are slowly building up to running fitness) to the task but walking group leader Nick was not going to let this happen and the walkers were already working on the task in hand as the runners arrived.

Stairs and hallways needed sweeping, clearing and then hoovering. Another team was upstairs pricing and size tagging garments ready for display, and at the same time more goodgymers worked on clearing and cleaning the kitchen areas.

The task took a little over the allotted time but it was well worth it.  Nick commented, "Seeing the work they had done and knowing that the shop will open tomorrow with fresh stock out and lovely clean areas that i know will help the volunteers out is just so rewarding."

It was then a fast pace jog back to base camp to complete another awesome Bexley Goodgym session.
