Get ready for #RunAndTalk 2025
Our annual #RunAndTalk campaign returns from 6–10 October, coinciding with World Mental Health Day. Whilst mental health matters every day of the year, this awareness day is a chance for people to unite across the globe to raise awareness and break the stigma around mental health.
Our annual #RunAndTalk week is all about encouraging open conversations around mental health, sharing experiences, and breaking the stigma—through the power of running. We’re inviting all England Athletics affiliated clubs and RunTogether groups to register and dedicate specific runs to #RunAndTalk.
Be part of #RunAndTalk week 2025Taking part can be as simple as running one mile or further, whilst chatting with friends, family, colleagues or other runners. We look forward to supporting your creative #RunAndTalk initiatives which highlight the brilliant community we are a part of.

Running can have a positive impact on a person's wellbeing and mental health. According to the department of health being active can reduce the risk of depression by up to 30%, boost your mood and improve self-esteem. In addition, it can help to reduce stress and help people think more clearly.
People may join the sport with good mental health, but overtime experience poor mental health. If you are experiencing mental health and wellbeing problems or know of someone who is struggling, there are a variety of places to go for support.
