Geoff Clarke

The AAA Officers and Board are sad to report the passing of their esteemed colleague Geoff Clarke at the venerable age of 96.

Geoff was well known throughout the sport as a great administrator who spent a lifetime in athletics. In addition to the many roles that he took on in his beloved Yorkshire, Geoff served as the Honorary Treasurer for the AAA from 1991 to 2001 and together with his wife Freda, was very much involved in bringing together the AAA and WAAA. Geoff also served as a Trustee of the London Marathon where he represented the AAA.

Geoff and his dear wife Freda were a formidable team whose lives were devoted to athletics. We shall miss Geoff and the outstanding contribution he gave to the sport.

Our condolences go out to Freda and family.

Funeral on Wednesday 17 April at 1.40pm, at Pontefract Crematorium, then afterwards at The Kings Croft Hotel. Family flowers only please.
