Free BASIS Associate Membership for Affiliated Clubs and Sustainability Framework update

As part of England Athletics’ BASIS (British Association for Sustainable Sport) membership, affiliated clubs are now entitled to free BASIS Associate membership. This entitles clubs to the BASIS fortnightly newsletter that will keep clubs up to date on sustainability topics within the sports sector as well as the chance to register for the monthly BASIS webinar series.

The associate membership forms part of England Athletics’ ongoing sustainability journey, which includes switching staff cars to EVs, as well as reducing the overall number of cars and plans to recruit and train a number of staff sustainability champions.

England Athletics will be publishing our first sustainability framework early in 2022. This will cover social, environmental and economic sustainability, looking at our central operations and how we support the England Athletics family of clubs, athletes, coaches, officials and RunTogether groups. It will also cover our plans to offer guidance for events, competition providers and athletics facilities.
