This year’s England Athletics 10,000m Championships will be held as part of the programme at the Manchester International on Wednesday 15 August 2018. Athletes can register now to be part of the championships action.

England Athletics Teams and Competition Manager Andy Day said, “We have seen great competitions at the Manchester International over the past few years since the event’s launch. There has been a superb atmosphere at the event which the athletes involved have all benefitted from and enjoyed.

“The addition of the men’s and women’s English 10,000m championships adds two more exciting events to the programme as well as giving our endurance runners a great opportunity to compete in that environment.”

The Manchester International sees the England team take on competition from Home Country representative teams and more.

National Endurance Lead Spencer Duval said, “The inclusion of the 10,000m championships as part of the Manchester International is something I’m sure the athletes will welcome and enjoy.

“Over recent years we have worked with Ben Pochee and the Highgate Harriers Night of the 10,000m PBs, and the British Milers’ Club.

"The interest and standard of domestic 10,000m running has grown through this period.

“It is good that we can now offer this opportunity for a high-quality race later in the season.”

10,000m Championships Entry Information

The entry standards for this championship are 30:30 for men and 34:30 for women. Athletes who have ran 14.40 for men, 16.40 for women for the 5000m will also be considered for places.
