England v Wales - the battle of the masters athletes
Later this month (17 May), two teams have been selected to represent England across the 5k distance. The race will take place in Shrewsbury with almost 200 masters athletes racing across both the English and Welsh A teams and development teams from V35 all the way through to 80+.
Speaking about the upcoming race, England Masters Road Running Programme Coordinator, Chris Hollinshead, said:
"It is fantastic to be able to provide another race opportunity for the masters athletes and this time over the shorter distance. The team is made up of experienced masters athletes alongside those who will be wearing the England vest for the very first time. The development team is a fantastic addition, with more athletes able to represent their country. It is set to be an exciting competition against the Welsh contingent."
