England team to gain indoor throws experience in Sweden

After the successes of previous years, England Athletics will be returning to Sweden on 7 February for the Växjö Throws International 2026.

A strong team of 15 throwers have been selected to represent their country against athletes from Sweden, Iceland and Norway. The selected young squad have immense potential, and this trip to Sweden provides a vital opportunity for them to test themselves against high-level European competition. The England team is made up of athletes aiming for a spot in the European U18 and U20 World Championships.

The competition, which features indoor javelin and discus events alongside the traditional shot put, offers a unique and rare challenge. It's crucial to provide our talent pathway throwers with international competitions and learning opportunities like this one and the experience gained in Växjö will be invaluable as these athletes look to transition into future international championships.
