England team call up to Dubai for para athletes
The Dubai WPA (Para) Grand Prix - taking place from 10 to 13 February 2026 - is the first Grand Prix event on the World Para Athletics calendar, and a great opportunity for athletes to post season opening performances ahead of a busy year of championships.
This will be the first time England have sent a team to this Grand Prix, and for the selected athletes, it will be an opportunity to try and achieve qualification for next year's Commonwealth Games.
Matt Kendrick, England Athletics National Para Athletics Manager said:
"As we move towards the conclusion of the 2026 Commonwealth Games qualification window on the 31 March 2026 this represents a key opportunity for para-athletes to establish their international classification status and secure qualification for Team England at the Commonwealth Games. This is an exciting team of para-athletes who have all been selected from within our talent pathway and I look forward to supporting them in Dubai at a high-level competition."
