England Athletics announce new Council Board members
England Athletics is delighted to announce that two members of the National Council have been elected to serve on the England Athletics Board to replace Mick Shortland (East) and Mike Neighbour (South East) who have both served their full eight year term of office as Councillors.
The two new Council Directors are Ellie Brown (Kent AC and London) and David Lodwick (Roadhoggs Leicester AC and East Midlands) and they will join our existing directly elected Clubs Directors Tim Soutar (Blackheath & Bromley) and Neil Costello (Cambridge & Coleridge) and the other independent Directors at the Board’s next meeting on the 22 May.
England Athletics can also announce that Allan Wort (North West regional Chair) has been elected as chair of its National Council.
The England Athletics National Council consists of the Chairs of each of its nine regions plus the Chair of the Board of Directors. The Council meets several times a year and reports directly to the Board and has a number of functions, particularly acting as a two-way conduit of information and engagement between the Board and the 1,800 clubs and member bodies. At a local level the England Athletics Club Support Managers work closely with the Chair in each of the nine regions to enable continuous dialogue and to ensure that the sport is supported and developed in a positive and appropriate way.
