Combined eventers chase standards in Canary Islands

A small team of England Athletics Talent Programme athletes will travel to the Canary Islands to compete in the International Athletics Meeting Fuerteventura event which will take place on 30–31 May 2026 at the Centro de Atletismo Insular de Fuerteventura.

The aim of this trip is to provide the athletes with an opportunity to achieve qualification standards for this year's U18 European and U20 World Championships. With limited opportunities for combined event athletes, we are hopeful that this event will provide optimum conditions and competitive fellow athletes for them to achieve the standards.

England Athletics Team Operations Manager Vicky Griffiths said:

"The Youth Talent Programme is an integral part of an athlete's development. This will be a great opportunity for the athletes to showcase their talents and the experience they've gained from the programme and will help the athletes in preparation for future international travel."

Good luck to all the athletes!
