Club and member body affiliation and athlete registration fees for 2026

After a consultation process with Regional Councils which has taken place over recent months, England Athletics can confirm the club and member body affiliation and athlete registration fees for 2026.

We’re committed to providing our clubs and members with excellent value and support, and we continue to invest in events, competitions and services to help you thrive.

Yesterday, we published our Annual Report, which shows the progress we have made in the last year and the variety of areas we have been reinvesting back into the sport. While we celebrate these successes, we recognise the challenges we still face in the development of our sport and continue to explore ways to best support our valued clubs and members.

From April 2026, club and member body affiliation fees will be £210, and athlete registration fees will be £23. We are committed to ensuring our fees remain affordable in comparison to other sports and our sport in other parts of the UK. Whilst our long-term aim is to keep fees to a minimum, the increase is reflective of increases to our own costs over recent years in important areas such as insurance - a critical aspect underpinning the support provided to clubs, coaches and competition providers.

By joining England Athletics, a not-for-profit organisation, you are actively contributing to the growth and development of athletics across the country. Your membership helps fund grassroots initiatives, support your clubs and volunteers, and create opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to get involved in the sport. Together, we’re building a stronger, more inclusive athletics community for today and future generations.

Our reinvestment 2025/26

Over 80% of membership fee income is reinvested directly into our key delivery priorities of club development, coaches' and officials' development, the support of competition delivery, the support of the retention of athletes and participation growth, and investment in talent.

As a not-for-profit organisation, we continue to work hard to explore ways to ensure that our clubs, member bodies and athletes get the best possible value for money, keeping fees at a manageable level in comparison to other sports despite increasing costs, so we can keep investing in you as the future of our sport.

"The fees for athletes, clubs and member bodies will be reinvested back into our sport, with these areas of reinvestment informed by our ongoing discussions with clubs and individuals on what is most important to them."

From April 2026, we’re stepping up the support you receive, with even more benefits such as:

• ✅ An expanded network of Regional Club Support - to ensure that clubs have access to the resources and support valued by so many clubs.
• ✅ Additional coach development activity - to continue to increase capacity much needed within clubs and across the sport.
• ✅ New youth competitions* such as funetics multi-challenge, an exciting new competition format to encourage more regular, age-appropriate opportunities for primary school aged children to compete in athletics, and continued growth of Sportshall
• ✅ Enhanced digital systems including Learning Management System for Coaches and Officials

* U10s should be registered with England Athletics from April 2026 but the payment of a fee will be optional for this age group. The collection and submission of personal data and information on each individual who is registered with a club in the U10 age category helps England Athletics for us to better understand participation trends in the sport, but also in order to keep the sport as safe as possible it is important accurate data is held for insurance, health and safety and safeguarding & welfare purposes. We would encourage payment of a fee if possible, with all funds being reinvested directly back into the ongoing development of our sport.
