After a consultation process with Regional Councils which has taken place over recent months, England Athletics can confirm the club and member body affiliation and athlete registration fees for 2025.

Effective from 1 April 2025, the athlete registration fee will be £20, while the club and member body affiliation fee will be £205.

England Athletics Chair, Gary Shaughnessy, explains:

“As a not-for-profit organisation, we have worked incredibly hard and explored at length various ways in which we can continue to ensure that our clubs, member bodies and athletes get the best possible value for money."

"While any price increase is something we tried hard to avoid, these small rises of £1 per year for athletes and £5 per year for clubs and member bodies are the result of our commitment to ensuring that our sport and those within it can continue to thrive in the face of growing costs to England Athletics in critical areas, such as insurance.

"The fees for athletes and clubs and member bodies will be reinvested back into our sport, with these areas of reinvestment informed by our ongoing discussions with clubs and individuals on what is most important to them. Most notable investment continues to be into the grass roots areas of club support, coach and officials education and development and enhancing competition experiences."

England Athletics has a commitment to diversifying its income streams, ensuring that the sport becomes more sustainable by being less reliant on one single source of income, and that more money can be invested into areas that matter to our clubs, member bodies and athletes. As part of this commitment, the organisation will soon launch a new membership offer, aimed at non-club runners in addition to continuing to work on increasing commercial investment into the sport.

Gary continues:

"We have an unbelievably dedicated, enthusiastic network of people - many of whom work in a voluntary capacity - who are the lifeblood of our sport. We owe it to them to continue exploring every way in which we can enhance experiences and safeguard the future of the sport, and we believe that working in this way will give us the best chance of creating lasting, positive change."
