Book a place on our Regional Welfare Officer forums

Club Welfare Officers can now book a place on our new Regional Welfare Officer forums, which will provide a supportive environment for individuals in the role to talk to each other and be part of a network of like-minded people.

England Athletics recognise that Club Welfare Officers are a critical role in ensuring athletes can take part in our sport safely.

As well as managing individual concerns, Club Welfare Officers play an important part in embedding Club Standards across the club to create a safe and welcoming environment in which all athletes and volunteers can thrive and have a lifelong love for the sport.

Welfare Officer forums will provide a supportive environment for individuals in the role to talk to each other and be part of a network of like-minded people.

They give valuable time for Welfare Officers to get together, to share, learn from and support each other. They also allow England Athletics to hear from people in this vital role which will help us to understand what resources are needed to ensure Welfare Officers feel supported.

Across November, there are a series of regional Welfare Officer forums taking place across England.

The focus of these forums will be to:

  • Reflect on differing viewpoints of Safeguarding and Welfare within clubs and how these might impact club culture and member experience.
  • Meet other Welfare Officers to talk about the successes and challenges faced in the role and provide ideas and support to each other.

Please note: These forums are not the place to discuss individual cases. Any case-specific matters should be addressed confidentially via the welfare inbox.
