Officials' support programme

The Officials' Support Programme is an opportunity for new or developing officials to gain advice and support from experienced officiating colleagues ('Officiating Ambassadors').

The programme is suitable for new officials or those who wish to progress through the pathway, especially those who:

  • are not connected to a club.
  • do not have access to any existing officials within their discipline.
  • are encountering difficulties in accessing sources of support to assist their development to achieve the next level within their discipline(s). 

Find a suitable Officiating Ambassador

Any individual who wishes to have access to the list of Officiating Ambassadors within their discipline, can contact Marc Ritchie, Technical Officials' Development Manager - mritchie@englandathletics.org to request the password to the file for that discipline.

  • Individuals can then initiate contact with someone on the list they feel best suits their needs in their respective discipline or region.
  • Or England Athletics can initiate contact between both parties if required.

The contact details of Officiating Ambassadors cannot be shared with other officials and must only be used to contact the respective ambassador or official.

Become an Officiating Ambassador

If you are a Level 2 or above with 3+ years’ experience, within their discipline(s) and have knowledge of the existing track/field and/or off-track pathways, we would love to hear from you and support you to become part of the officials' support programme. All that we ask is for you to provide some information about your experience of mentoring within sport and within your professional/volunteer life.
