Age Group Combined Events: 28-29 August

If you missed the excitement of last weekend's Age Group individual championships, or just want some more of the same, we are pleased to announce our Age Group Combined Events championships take place in Manchester later this month - over the weekend of 28-29 August.

As a developmental build up to the usual decathlon and heptathlon, different events with fewer disciplines are used for the under 15 athletes;

  • U17 men: decathlon (100m, long jump, shot, high jump, 400m, 100m hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin, 1500m)
  • U17 women: heptathlon (80m hurdles, high jump, shot, 200m, long jump, javelin, 800m)
  • U15 boys: octathlon (100m, javelin, high jump, 400m, 80m hurdles, discus, pole vault, 1000m)
  • U15 girls: hexathlon (75m hurdles, long jump, javelin, shot, high jump, 800m)

As well as action from the Under 17 and under 15 athletes the weekend will also incorporate the European Athletics Combined Events Challenge which England Athletics are hosting for senior athletes from across Europe.

Covid restrictions: In line with Government recommendations, everyone attending the event will need to either provide proof of double vaccination, via a vaccine passport or showing your vaccine card, or by providing a negative flow test. This will be required on entry to the event on both days.

Car parking: Due to the Manchester City home game with Arsenal on the weekend we are advising everyone arrive prior to 10am, as the roads will be grid locked after this time. Parking will also be a problem. We have been informed by MCFC  that you will not have to pre-register your car for parking on Saturday 28 August. Please go to the Green Car Park, Hillkirk Street, M11 3EZ and parking will be payable on entry. £10 if there is one person in the car and £8 if there is more than one person in the car. Sunday parking will be in the Blue Car Parks, through Gate 2, M11 3DU. This will be free of charge.
