Pathway for delivering West Midlands Regional Performance
The Athlete Pathway will ensure that the athletes who meet predetermined criteria are given as much support by the region as possible to fulfil their potential.
The previous squads have been very well supported and the feedback from both athletes and coaches was excellent. Coaches are actively encouraged to come along and observe and talk to the Regional coaches and their peers even if they don't have athletes involved with the squads.
Similarly the County Athletic Performance Squads have started in parts of the region with Year 8 and 9 athletes going through their paces in the multi event based squads and years 9/10 athletes moving into event specific groups. Coach development and involvement will feature heavily in the programme
Our intention is to set up and support satellite event groups across the region as a part of the pathway to enable athletes and coaches to meet relatively locally at regular times to work together and continue the development of our athletes and coaches.
