Becoming a coach or leader is a great way of enjoying athletics and running. Whether you are an athlete looking for a new dimension to your role in the sport, a parent wanting to get more involved or are inspired by seeing how coaches have made a difference to people’s lives coaching has plenty to offer. 

County Track & Field Championships 2017

County championships will be taking place across England this summer. The vast majority of events will be happening in May with some counties also arranging additional events to take place at other times. 

Understanding Eating Disorders workshop: 3rd April

An Understanding Eating Disorders workshop will be held on 3rd April in Northampton.  This free workshop is run by Allie Outram, a BACP accredited psychotherapist, and ex-international endurance athlete.  It is available to all coaches on the National Coach Development Programme and a limited number of places are also available for any other interested local coaches.

Trained guide runners help six visually impaired new runners

Six visually impaired (VI) adults attended a fantastic running taster session expertly led by Run Leader Sara Davies.  After some introductions the participants were all matched up with trained guide runners who had kindly agreed to support the event.

Event Group Coach integration day: Endurance (qualification)

The Event Group Integration Day is the final step in gaining an Event Group Qualification and will pull together much of the content covered within the qualification online modules, through discussion and group work.  Coaches who have completed the Event Group Endurance online course of this qualification should book on to one of these Integration Days.

National Endurance Conference - How to Win: The Development of Power and Speed for Endurance

England Athletics’ National Endurance Conference with speakers including Malcolm Brown (coached to many international athletes as well as Alistair and Jonny Brownlee), and Barry Fudge (Head of Endurance at British Athletics). You can be part of the weekend which takes the theme “How to Win - the development of power and speed for endurance” and has a mix of workshop, practical, discussion and networking sessions.
