Commonwealth Youth Games

These Games provide an ideal platform for any aspiring Under 18 athletes to experience a multi-sport Games. Representing Team England can be an important first step towards a successful and enjoyable athletic career.


The inaugural Youth Commonwealth Games were held in Edinburgh in 2000.


The medallists in 2004 included Kim Wall, who was a member of the England’s 4 x 100 silver medal team at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.


The Melbourne Youth Commonwealth Games of 2004 featured Jessica Ennis who won silver in both high hurdles and high jump. Jessica of course was the heptathlon athlete bronze medallist at the Melbourne Games in 2006.

 

The next Commonwealth Youth Games is to be held in Puna, India between 12-18 October 2008.
