Athletics Coaches and Coaching Assistants - nationwide, especially Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire.Youth Athletics is a Community Interest Company that specialises increasing the access to quality athletics provision across the country. They do this by helping clubs and communities facilitate the demand for athletics. Therefore, we are searching for more coaches Nationally to help prepare areas before the influx of athletics on the back of the 2017 World Championships held in London next year. Successful applicants will join the growing Youth Athletics Network of youth coaches and assistants, with a view to offering Athletics 365 orientated coaching sessions during term-time. These will likely occur during the evening on a weekday, for one to two hours in the initial stages before expanding to three hours if required.
You will ideally already hold an Athletics Coach, Coaching Assistant or equivalent licence/qualification. However, we will support the development of aspiring assistants and coaches through our mentoring system and development days. We will even look to fund you on your courses to ensure you will be suitably qualified. You should have experience or an active interest in working with children from the age of 6 upwards. This is because many of the groups and academies start from the ages of 6 and 7 to the U15 age group. However, we have delivered performance academies in the past (for those of you with a particular coaching niche).
You will be confident in organising and coaching the age groups involved and will be happy to coach multiple events including the core runs, jumps and throws. Remember there will be training opportunities in which to develop your all-round knowledge and Athletics 365. Termly plans will be provided for you.
Youth Athletics also run a number of holiday athletics camps across the country should that be of an additional interest to you.
This is an excellent opportunity for those aged 16-25 to get involved in paid coaching work in athletics whilst still training or studying. This advert is not limited to this age bracket and they would love to hear from anyone that is passionate about grassroots athletics!
Salary: £Competitive Rates
Apply: If you are interested, please send your CV and covering letter to email@example.com and fill out our expression of interest form on this link. Please note Skype calls may be requested to get to know you a little better to ensure you align to the philosophy of Youth Athletics.
