Greats of the sport honoured in 2018 Hall of Fame inductions

Greats of athletics, Tommy Green, Geoff Capes, John Regis, Aston Moore, Jessica Ennis-Hill, Peter Matthews, and Katharine Merry were inducted into the Hall of Fame in a ceremony at the Ricoh Arena this evening. As well as the new inductees to the England Athletics Hall of Fame, the night saw volunteers from across the country honoured in the National Volunteer Awards to celebrate their dedication and service to the sport.

South West volunteer award winners

Our England Athletics regional Volunteer Awards presentation evenings are now complete and the South West awards were presented on 29 September at the Exeter Golf Country Club. Ten South West Region winners received their awards from special guest Jo Pavey.

South East volunteer award winners

Our England Athletics regional Volunteer Awards presentation evenings are now complete and the South East est awards were presented on 4 October in Guildford. Ten South East Region winners received their awards. The Volunteer Awards 2018 are a chance to celebrate and recognise the unsung heroes amongst all of our volunteers in the Athletics and Running community.

London volunteer award winners

Our England Athletics regional Volunteer Awards presentation evenings are now complete and the London awards were presented on 3 October. Ten London Region winners received their awards and a bottle of bubbly, and five runners up were also recognised.

Mental Health Awareness Week: Sue's story - why not?

In 2015 Sue's stepson Pat took his life after struggling with depression and anxiety. Sue has used running to help her deal with what happened: "Running has been my crutch. I came to running late, 51 in fact. I had tried everything possible at school to get out of athletics. My first run was around 30 seconds.
