Projects

Since being initially set up in 2011 the England Athletics Youth Panel (previously the Athletics Youth Advisory Group) have been involved in designing / developing several projects to support young people and their journey within athletics.

Past Projects:

Welfare & Safeguarding -  members have worked with the UKA Welfare Panel to improve the information available to clubs and young athletes. This has included providing guidance on the best way to interact with young people, and raising awareness of the UKA Welfare team amongst young people.

Equality & Diversity - members have helped UKA to work towards achievement of the national Equality standard, and have signed up to support the Sport Charter, which promotes fairness and inclusion in sport.

Officials' Conference - A number of members attended the British Athletics Officials’ Conference, to deliver a workshop session specifically for young officials. Focusing on goal setting, mentoring and accessing support structures, the workshop was extremely successful, with similar sessions planned for future conferences.

European Youth Forum - worked with European Athletics Association for 2016 Youth Forum in Amsterdam; planning the content and make sure it's appropriate for the young people attending.  European Volunteering Challenge

Volunteering - A number of members are actively supporting major events, including the European Athletics Team Championships in Gateshead and the Diamond League events in London and Birmingham.
