In the Boys’ race, there were no individual medals but three athletes inside the top 10 of a top class race was a formidable achievement. The race was won by Cherrad Oussami of Algeria.

  • Matt Willis - 5th
  • Thomas Keen - 7th
  • Rory Leonard - 9th
  • Lachlan Wellington - 14th
  • Angus McMillan - 17th

The team finished 2nd behind a superb Morroccan team, who fittingly were presented with their medals by iconic 1500m world record holder Hicham El Guerrouj.

School Team Event

The ISF world schools XC championships also has competitions for the outstanding school teams, and England was represented by Charters Schools, Ascot, and Judd School, Tonbridge in the Girls’ and Boys’ races respectively.
