National and Regional Athlete and Coach workshops

This autumn and winter England Athletics has launched a new series of event specific workshops which see coaches and their athletics coming together for training and development opportunities. These events have been well received by the coaches and athletes with more events planned for early 2018 that you can now book on to.

Endurance Masterclasses with Malcolm Brown

England Athletics is delighted to announce a series of exclusive opportunities to sit and chat with Malcolm Brown about all things endurance. Malcolm has been coach to many international athletes as well as Olympic triathlon medalists Alistair and Jonny Brownlee. Numbers are very limited to allow time for coaches to interact and get the most out off the session with Malcolm. Each session is also followed by one of our Marathon Evening sessions with Nick Anderson and other experts.

Important information for clubs about General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

A change in government legislation regarding data protection called The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will be in place from 25th May 2018. Athletics and running clubs will have to ensure that they are compliant with the new Government regulations. England Athletics has produced guidance for affiliated clubs and associations to help with identifying the key areas that they should be addressing as a result of the additional requirements arising from the upcoming introduction of GDPR.

Race Walk Training Day (Coventry)

Race Walk Come and Try Day, morning workshop followed by England Athletics 10km Race Walk Championships, Coventry.  This session will focus on technique and conditioning for race walking, tempo training, and a Q&A session with an international athlete reflecting on their 2017 season.

Northwood Academy of Hurdles coaching series

Sessions provide the opportunity for coaches to work in small teams, enabling them to share ideas whilst working with athletes of their selected age group.  The emphasis is on the technical development of hurdlers but other aspects of athlete development, e.g. strength and conditioning - will also figure.

Physical Preparation - mobility, movement and performance (Nottingham)

Focussing on how athletes can improve mobility, movement and therefore athletic performance, this workshop builds on the content in the England Athletics Movement Skills workshop. This workshop looks at movement assessment and interventions including use of foam rollers, hurdle mobility and coordination drills and strength training progressions.

Regional Coach and Athlete Workshop - Endurance (Birmingham)

Endurance workshops looking at specific areas for endurance coaches looking to develop their athletes. This workshop will be a Physical preparation practical.

England Athletics Volunteer Conference

Our conference, funded by Spirit of 2012 and hosted by Donna Fraser will be an interactive day, with opportunity to hear from leading experts, England Athletics staff and volunteers covering topics from how to involve more volunteers, how to develop and progress within your role, through to how to being more resilient or making change happen locally.
