England Athletics knows that athletes lie at the centre of our sport. That is why we work hard to attract athletes into the sport and then provide them with the support they need.
Many of the services that are available to athletes are accessed through being part of an athletics club that is affiliated to England Athletics. There is a wide range of clubs so you can join a club which supports your level or aspiration and ability. A club will open the door to all kinds of competitions and opportunities for you. Joining a club means you can become a registered athlete and enjoy many of the benefits this brings. Athlete registration is carried out through affiliated clubs - individuals can not register with England Athletics.
Click here for more information about Athlete registration, including advice regarding the registration requirements included as part of the UKA Rules for Competition 2016. Or see the 'Athlete Registration' section.

Finding a good coach
One of the most important services available to athletes is effective coaching. This is fundamental if you want to maximise your performance and enjoyment, and also to reduce the risk of injury through inappropriate training. Most coaches operate through coaches which is another reason it is important to find a good club.To find out more about the work of England Athletics on this front visit the Coaching section of our website.
