We look forward to our final indoor champs of the season with the Under 17 and Under 15 Combined Events in Sheffield, plus the England Athletics 10k Walks championships in Coventry.  We also remind you about our Masters opportunities, how to fundraise for your club, and announce the team for the World Schools' Cross Country.

Under 15 and Under 17 athletes ready for indoor combined events this weekend Under 15 and Under 17 athletes ready for indoor combined events this weekend

This weekend sees our final indoor track and field competition - the Under 17 and Under 15 Combined events championships - take place at the EIS in Sheffield.  Our young athletes, no doubt inspired by Katarina Johnson-Thompson's Gold medal at the World Indoors in Birmingham last week, will be vying for their own medals.

Age Group Masters Opportunities Age Group Masters Opportunities

Following the cancellation of the Trafford 10k due to the recent extreme weather, and the announcement that the event will not be rescheduled in the next eight weeks England Athletics acknowledge the disappointment for many age group runners.  We can confirm that Trafford entrants will have the opportunity at the rescheduled race to qualify for a future Age Group Masters team.

Team selected for ISF World Schools' Cross-Country Championships Team selected for ISF World Schools' Cross-Country Championships

The English Schools' Athletic Association has selected a very strong team to compete at the forthcoming ISF World Schools' Cross Country in Paris, France. This is a prestigious U18 team competition, and it is hoped that we can build on the incredibly strong performances from last year's teams. ISF World Schools' competitions have played an important part in the development of some of our best athletes.

This Sunday 11th March sees the England Athletics 10k Walk championships, incorporated into the Molly Barnett Open Road Walks being held in Coventry.

Everyone at England Athletics are very sorry to hear the news of Sir Roger Bannister's passing. He was a legend of our sport and a deserved member of our England Athletics Hall of Fame. We pass on our condolences to Sir Roger's family and friends.
