We are extremely proud to announce that we are hosting our very first conference for volunteers!  Our conference will be an interactive day, with opportunity to hear from leading experts, England Athletics staff and volunteers covering topics from how to involve more volunteers, how to develop and progress within your role, through to how to being more resilient or making change happen locally.

As part of the governance review of the sport the Board have agree to review the purpose of the England Athletics Council Structure. We would like to remind you that we want to hear from people within the affiliated sport who are interested in having a role in this process as a representative of England Athletics’ member clubs. The deadline for stating your interest is this Friday.

As well as the Commonwealth Games, England Athletics sends teams to a variety of competitions and also works with other associations in England to provide competitive opportunities for athletes. We are pleased to announce the selection policies and events for our Mountain Runners - plus opportunities for young athletes to learn more about this discipline at various Camps.

National Jumps workshop for coaches: 26th November National Jumps workshop for coaches: 26th November

England Athletics are pleased to announce that they will be holding their second National Jumps workshop for coaches.  The event will cover long jump, triple jump, high jump and pole vault workshops - including theory and practical sessions and video analysis.

AAA applications for 2018 grants now open AAA applications for 2018 grants now open

The Amateur Athletic Association (AAA) has a fund which is able to support English Athletes under the age of 23 who are in full time education, active in athletics and not receiving other funding.  Applications are welcomed, and note the deadline is 10th February 2018.

Foreign Athlete applications for 2018 are now open. Clubs are required to complete the Foreign Athlete Application form for new athletes that fall under Rule 21 S5 (5) in the UKA Rules for Competition.

England Athletics supports Coaches to attend European Hurdles and Jumps Convention England Athletics supports Coaches to attend European Hurdles and Jumps Convention

Thanks to England Athletics and European Athletics, and specifically the on-site management and hosting of Swedish Athletics, Falun, Sweden was the venue for the European Hurdles and Jumps Convention last week.  Femi Akinsanya, Jade Surman, Guy Spencer, Piotr Spas, Zac Kerin, James Hillier, John Shepherd and Graham Pilkington made up the England Athletics coach delegate team.

It is a requirement that coaches, officials and volunteers in certain roles in athletics hold a current DBS check through UKA. We explain the importance of these checks and how systems have been put in place to help getting your DBS check done or updated as straight forward as possible.

Ron Pickering Memorial Fund grant application deadline: 19 November

A reminder that the deadline apply for grants from Ron Pickering Memorial Fund is Sunday 19 November 2017.  An athlete can apply directly using the online application form only; no other method of application will be accepted.

Grants are available to all UK athletes between the ages of 15 and 23, including disability event athletes. Grants to athletes over 23 may be made in exceptional circumstances.
