The Autumn season is now well underway; with road and cross country events for athletes, and development courses and workshop opportunities for coaches and athletes.  We celebrate the contributions of our volunteers in the sport with our regional Volunteer Awards, and we look forward to our National Hall of Fame and Volunteer Awards evening this weekend

There are also opportunites to be involved in the UK Member's Council, or the England Athletics Youth Panel, and our easyfundraising competition closes shortly.

The ERRA Autumn road relays produced a packed day of action. The young athletes competed in their events and provided the spectators with some great competitions to watch before the senior men’s six stage and women’s four stage finals were decided with some exciting battles for the medals.

This year’s England Athletics Hall of Fame and National Volunteer Awards night takes place on Saturday 14th October at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. It's your chance to meet our outstanding volunteers, plus top athletes who have previously been inducted into the England Athletics Hall of Fame as well as athletes and nominees who have been put forward for induction in 2017.

England Age Group Masters runners demonstrated that age really is no barrier to performance as they took on the MBNA Chester Marathon in style. Sporting the specially designed retro-style England Age Group Masters kit the 150 strong England team covering age groups V35 through to V75 took on the 26.2 mile race, with the added challenge of competing against a Celtic Nations team.

England Athletics are pleased to announce that the English Cross Country Association (ECCA) have confirmed their International Fixtures for the upcoming season.  The ECCA would also like to remind clubs that entries for the National Cross Country Relays close this Friday 13th October.

England’s U23 mountain runners acquitted themselves well against world class opposition in the Smarna Gora mountain race in Slovenia on Saturday. The race was the final event in the World Mountain Running Association’s World Cup series.

National Endurance Conference - last few tickets National Endurance Conference - last few tickets

The England Athletics National Endurance Conference which takes place near Exeter on 28th and 29th October.  The event is entitled How to Win - The Development of Power and Speed for Endurance.  There are a very few day tickets remaining and only 2 ticket + twin accommodation delegate packages left.  You need to book by 5pm on 20th October.

UK Member's Council (UKMC) nominations invited UK Member's Council (UKMC) nominations invited

Nominations are invited for three roles on the UK Member’s Council (UKMC), the custodians of the long-term interests of athletics in the UK.  Three elections will be held for three posts on the council; Representative of Affiliated Clubs of the Celtic Nations, Representative of Affiliated Clubs of the National Associations practising disciplines of athletics other than track and field athletics, Representative of Senior Coaches.

The England Athletics regional volunteer awards evenings are held to recognise and celebrate the work of our volunteers. Volunteers were nominated by their peers and the England Athletics regional councils then made the decisions of who would win.  This week, awards were announced for the South East and London, and awarded in the South West. Regional winners are put forward to the National awards which are presented at our Hall of Fame gala evening on 14th October.  If you'd like to buy tickets for this event where volunteers and top athletes past and present mix in a celebratory evening, contact Alison Potts apotts@englandathletics.org
