There are a lot of great events coming up in the sport. For coaches and athletes there are event specific regional events available that you can read about below, as well as many other coach development opportunities through the coming months. Our Hall of Fame and Volunteer Awards take place on Saturday 14 October.

We would also like to remind you that our AGM is on the way and, whatever your role in the sport, we would love to see you at our next consultation events which are being held in the South West (30 Sept), North West (11 Oct), Yorkshire (16 Oct), London (6 Nov) and the North East (20 Nov).

As part of our work to support coaches and athletes, a series of regional event specific workshops are to be held throughout this winter. These are in addition to other workshops and events available to support coaches working in the areas of speed, endurance, jumps, throws, and youth development.

On Saturday 14 October our Hall of Fame and Volunteer Awards night will be hosted by Katharine Merry. The sport will honour volunteers who have made an outstanding contribution to athletics and running in their community, and induct more of the greats of the sport into the England Athletics Hall of Fame. You can come along to be part of it.

UK Athletics will be hosting a unique exhibition in October in celebration of Black History Month. 

Led by former athlete and now UK Athletics’ Vice President Donna Fraser, the black and white photographic exhibition recognises the contribution of past and present Black and Asian athletics coaches, and focuses on the long-term goal of continuing to inspire the next generation to get into athletics for years to come.
