We've lots of important and useful information for clubs and those involved in the sport this week. We also have reports from England Athletics team performances around the world. With the first Nitro Athletics Melbourne having taken place at the weekend the athletes were getting ready for the second Nitro Athletics competition as we finalised content for this week’s ebulletin.

England Athletics is pleased to announce that it will receive £7.3million from Sport England towards delivery of its core strategic priorities during the period 2017-2021.  This Sport England funding is part of a £101 million investment for 25 governing bodies of sport which includes specific National Lottery and Government funding.

Online payments functionality available for clubs Online payments functionality available for clubs

An increasing number of clubs are making use of the online payment functionality England Athletics offers through the club portal to enable easier payment of club subscription fees and /or payment of athlete registrations with England Athletics. The functionality was launched last year to enable clubs to manage their own membership payments and allow their club members to make online payment.

They said it would revolutionise track and field and Nitro Athletics, Athletics Australia’s highly anticipated fast paced format, certainly began with a bang on Saturday. With a big crowd, a DJ, the Bolt All Stars dancers and a number of brand new or long–forgotten events, England Athletics’ young team entered into the unknown, but emerged energised and excited by the first of three Nitro Athletics meetings that take place this month in Melbourne.

England senior endurance athletes were in Spain this weekend for the Granollers Half Marathon. The England team consisted of Gemma Steel, Victoria Knight, Georgie Bruinvels, Paul Martelletti and Carl Hardman who were against a strong field of Kenyans in the men’s competition and as this year’s event was also hosting the Spanish National Championships there was also a strong field of the home nations runners.

Following the hugely successful event last year the National Schools Primary and year 7 Cross Country final on Saturday 25th March will move to Prestwold Hall for 2017 and will be using some of the course used by the GB athletes at the world cross country trials which will take place just two weeks prior to the event!

This year’s pre-season 'Introduction to International Mountain Running' junior development camp will be held on Sunday 19th March at Sedbergh School from 10am until 4pm.  It is aimed at athletes aged 14 to 16 years old.
