West Midlands volunteer award winners

Walsall in the West Midlands was the venue to celebrate our amazing volunteers in that region. Katharine Merry hosted the evening and Acting Regional Chair Dave Lodwick presented the awards to the winners and runners up in ten categories. Winners are then put forward to our National Volunteer Awards.

Northwood Academy of Hurdles coaching series

We are pleased to announce the Northwood Academy of Hurdles coaching series. Five sessions over the next few months provide the opportunity for coaches to work in small teams, enabling them to share ideas whilst working with athletes of their selected age group. The emphasis is on the technical development of hurdlers but other aspects of athlete development, e.g. strength and conditioning - will also figure.

Development opportunities coming up for athletes and coaches

We are pleased to invite coaches and athletes to attend our upcoming Regional Coach and Athlete Days. Starting in August these days include event specific Technical Workshops, with practical sessions for coaches and athletes, as well as opportunities to share ideas and discuss key subjects.

An exciting opportunity to get involved in officiating

Officiating can be great way to meet new people, develop skills and try something new! Looking to get involved in Officiating but not sure where to start? We will be delivering taster sessions for people who would like to find out more and get involved in officiating - opportunities at the Midland Track Field Championships on 10 June and BAL Big Bash on 7 July.

England Athletics Volunteer Awards 2018

In the 11th year of these awards, we are inviting you to tell us the inspiring story of a volunteer you know. The Volunteer Awards 2018 are our chance to celebrate and recognise the unsung heroes amongst all of our volunteers in the Athletics and Running community - but we need your help to say 'thank you' to all those people it can't happen without.
