National Cross-Country School Finals Return to Prestwold Hall for 2018

Following a highly successful switch to Prestwold Hall near Loughborough in 2017, the National Cross-Country Finals for school years 5, 6, and 7 will return to the same venue on Saturday March 24th2018. England Athletics will be supporting the event again, and with the action from the course being live-streamed on a 12 metre screen, and live across the world, it certainly has a big occasion feel about it.

Journey to the Gold Coast: Laura Weightman

On the 4th April 2018 the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games will be getting underway on Australia's Gold Coast. Last month, Team England announced which athletes had been selected to take the 75 allocated places on the athletics squad, and those athletes will now be preparing for what is considered the competition pinnacle for England representative teams. We will be catching up with various members of the squad as they set their sights on next year's event in Queensland.

Entries Open for Antrim International Cross Country

Entries are now open for the Antrim International Cross Country at Greenmount on 6th January 2018. This is the 41st Edition of the competition which has been held at various venues across Northern Ireland since it began at Mallusk in 1977. The event is in its 9th year at Greenmount.

2018 Mountain running team opportunities

As well as the Commonwealth Games, England Athletics sends teams to a variety of competitions and also works with other associations in England to provide competitive opportunities for athletes. We are pleased to announce the selection policies and events for our Mountain Runners - plus opportunities for young athletes to learn more about this discipline at various Camps.

British Blind Sport launch tethers to help to get blind people up and running

National Disability Sports Organisation British Blind Sport have produced a range of bespoke tethers to enable visually impaired people to run with a sighted guide runner in a safe and enjoyable way. British Blind Sport hope the sale of this product will help more visually impaired people to enjoy running and physical activity as part of their Find a Guide project in partnership with England Athletics.

England Athletics 10k titles awarded

Once again the Age UK Leeds Abbey Dash proved a popular choice for club runners looking for a high quality field and a fast 10k, with Sunday's race living up to its billing. And neither of the two new champions were favourites going into the race. In addition, 189 predominantly club runners broke 34 minutes, and 29 athletes broke the England Athletics road running development standards.

English Cross Country Association Saucony National XC Relays

Mansfield hosted the traditional start of the cross-country season with its usual mix of mud on the top field and faster paced surfaces though the undulating woods making for an action-packed Saturday. This is the 31st time the championships has taken place and as it has done for more than three decades now, it proves a useful marker for athletes, coaches and team managers as to how things are progressing.
