Windrush Reflections – Celebrating the 70th Anniversary

Athletics is the most diverse sport globally and to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the arrival of HM Windrush into Britain on Friday 22 June 1948, UK Athletics and England Athletics have teamed up to showcase staff, clubs and athletes who have links with Windrush. We share some stories of those who are descendants of the Windrush Generation; their parents or grandparents came over from the Caribbean to the UK to help rebuild post-war Britain.

Women's Sport Week - Brighton and Hove Women's Running Club

We're supporting Women's Sport Week 2018! #WSW2018. Brighton and Hove Women's Running Club is an England Athletics affiliated club that has done a range of work to bring more women into running and provide them with on-going support. Among the activities of the club are a RunTogether group, 'Return to Running', and the club hosts an annual beginners' 10 week course which starts each May.

Bosworth and Davies back to competing on home soil at England and British Championships

Leeds Roundhay Park will be the venue for the British Grand Prix of Race Walking 20km that incorporates the England Athletics Championships, the British Championships and the British Team Trial event for the European Athletics Championships. It will also be a homecoming event for Tom Bosworth who will be competing on home soil for the first time since his success on the Gold Coast and will start as favourite.

Women's Sport Week - Helen Clitheroe

We're supporting Women's Sport Week 2018! #WSW2018. As an athlete Helen was a European Indoor champion at 3000m and set a British record for Steeplechase in the 2008 Olympics. She is now a coach and leads on England Athletics' targeted event initiative work for the steeplechase in providing opportunities for athletes and coaches to develop and progress in the event.

2018 Commonwealth Half-Marathon Selection Policy

The inaugural Commonwealth Half Marathon Championship will be incorporated within the existing IAAF silver label Cardiff Half Marathon taking place on Sunday 7th October, 2018. England Athletics aim to send full competitive teams to challenge for medals as well as giving consideration to athletes with the potential to challenge at the marathon at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Women's Sport Week - Maxine Robbins

We're supporting Women's Sport Week 2018! Maxine Robbins has gone from becoming involved in the sport as a parent to being part of the England Athletics coaching team for the Loughborough International this year. The role was the latest success Maxine has enjoyed since first becoming involved when her daughter took up pole vaulting.

Road Running Road Shows this summer

England Athletics are hosting just two more Road Running Roadshows - on the 9th and 10th July. So if you are a club officer, road running coach or leader, or anyone else involved with off-track running - and want an opportunity to find out more about some of our initiatives that aim to support road running clubs, come and join us! There's also the chance to meet England 10k Champion Ashley Gibson and European Cross-Country medallist Naomi Taschimowitz.

England U18s top medal table at International Mountain Running Youth Cup!

The World Mountain Running Association International Youth Cup for under 18 athletes took place in Lanzada, Italy. The 4.3km course included a 290m ascent and descent. Matthew Mackay stormed to victory - leading the England Junior Men to a team gold medal. The England Junior Women improved their finishing position from 7th last year to 5th.

Irish teenager Sarah Healy moves to second on the European under-18 1500m all-time list after her run in Germany, while Luke Traynor clocks 28:32 for 10km.
