Following the success of the Female Coach Connectivity Events last year the UK Coaching Talent and Performance Team invite female coaches to their four Events in September and October 2018. The Connectivity events provide coaches with the opportunity to meet likeminded coaches and share coaching stories.

She ran on her own until her first 5k on Mayday that year led to her joining the Histon and Impington runners and last September she ran her first half marathon. She now leads a Couch to 5k group at the college where she works.

Brighton and Hove Women's Running Club is an England Athletics affiliated club that has done a range of work to bring more women into running and provide them with on-going support. Among the activities of the club are a RunTogether group, 'Return to Running', and the club hosts an annual beginners' 10 week course which starts each May.

She is now a coach and leads on England Athletics' targeted event initiative work for the steeplechase in providing opportunities for athletes and coaches to develop and progress in the event.

Maxine Robbins has gone from becoming involved in the sport as a parent to being part of the England Athletics coaching team for the Loughborough International this year. The role was the latest success Maxine has enjoyed since first becoming involved when her daughter took up pole vaulting.
This winter England Athletics is delivering a series of workshops available to coaches working at all levels, across all event groups. Many coaches have already attended events and you can get involved to help develop your coaching and help your athletes to get more from the sport.
This webinar aims to help sports professionals and volunteers, specifically coaches, working with athletes of all ages and abilities to detect possible eating problems at an early stage as well as looking at subjects such as how coaches can contribute to reducing the eating disorder risk and how coaches can support athletes who are currently experiencing eating problems.
Thanks to England Athletics and European Athletics, and specifically the on-site management and hosting of Swedish Athletics, Falun, Sweden was the venue for the European Hurdles and Jumps Convention last week. Femi Akinsanya, Jade Surman, Guy Spencer, Piotr Spas, Zac Kerin, James Hillier, John Shepherd and Graham Pilkington made up the England Athletics coach delegate team.

This was our 10th year of volunteer awards - that's 10 years of celebrating the outstanding contribution volunteers across England give to make our sport happen. The British Athletics Supporters' Club (BASC) assists Coaches and Officials with bursaries throughout the year. BASC will award sums of up to £250 to successful applicants who wish to pursue higher standards. This might possibly, but not exclusively, involve attending a qualification course run by UK Athletics, England Athletics or similar organisations.
