St Helens Sutton AC's RunTogether group Sutton Beginners took part in one of this year's 140+ #RunAndTalk organised runs. And they were lucky enough to be joined by Jenny Meadows during one of their weekly RunTogether group sessions.
The England Athletics Club Portal, which can be used by clubs for a range of functions, now has a new Help Support section to help guide clubs in their day-to-day activities and in making the most of the full range of functionality. This includes how to manage club members, how to utilise online payment and management of club subscriptions, information on queries about the DBS / welfare matters and how to use the club portal for communication with members.
Before Christmas, we held pilot sessions for our brand-new Team Spirit Champions training. These free, fast-paced, interactive sessions will send you back to your club with plenty of ideas to bring bigger smiles to the faces of the people that make our sport happen: you, the volunteers! Many of our England Athletics regstered athletes, coaches and RunTogether members take part in their local parkrun. One local Mencap RunTogether group has encouraged some of its members to take up the parkrun challenge. Matt Lett recently completed his 50th parkrun and has inspired some of his group to also take up the challenge!

Bracknell Athletics Club got involved last year as a pilot club for our new Game Changers Youth Volunteering Programme. They have since been supporting 10 young people through their Coaching Assistant Course. As a bonus, the club's Chairman is researching volunteering and has an online survey you are invited to take part in to better determine how to mobilise more people to help support athletics.
A dark January Monday evening at a sports centre in Bexleyheath, south east London. And it's time for Bexley Mencap's regular weekly keep fit session for people with Learning Disabilities. Initially set up nearly four years ago, as a pilot with England Athletics, RunTogether group Bexley Mencap now runs regular physical activity classes specially for members which combines fun with fitness.
This week saw the first two of five England Athletics Road Running Roadshows take place in London and Peterborough. The events, designed for members of road running clubs, road running coaches and leaders, event organisers and anyone else involved with off-track running, saw members of England Athletics staff outline the various programmes and initiatives that England Athletics delivers for the off-track community.

England Athletics' series of Road Shows for the club road running community begin their tour around the country this coming week. The Road Shows are open to club officers, coaches, leaders and club members and offer an opportunity to find out more about some of the new and existing initiatives that aim to support road running clubs.
