Be a part of the celebration at our Hall of Fame and Volunteer Awards

You can be part of the evening as we honour volunteers who have made an outstanding contribution to athletics and running in their community, and induct more of the greats of the sport into the England Athletics Hall of Fame. Join us as Katharine Merry hosts the event at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry on Saturday 14 October and speaks to some of the great characters of the sport.

Making life easier when deploying officials for events

England Athletics really want to improve the experience of officials and make life easier for people who deploy officials to competitions and events. One thing that could help is making it easier for people to find out what competitions there are, make themselves available, and be selected, withdraw or even replace someone else. We are currently looking at which system to test and we need your help!

Get ready for the road race season!

England Athletics have organised a Road Traffic Management course to take place on Saturday 23rd September 2017 at the Keepmoat Stadium, Doncaster. Limited places are still available; deadline for applications is 15th September.

Best of the Best volunteer winners presented with their East Region awards

The Age Group championships at the Bedford International Stadium was the location for the presentation of the England Athletics Regional Volunteer Awards for the East Region. This year, nominators were also invited to the event which has has been a valuable step in promoting the awards and a way of saying thank you to the nominator as well as the winner.

Volunteer Spotlight - Mike Burrell

As a part of Team Spirit we're highlighting the work of some of our amazing volunteers, one of these volunteers celebrated a special birthday recently, Mike Burrell from Bicester Athletics Club. Mike has been coaching athletes since 1961; wanting to give something back to the sport that he loved. He's also qualified as a Field judge and has spent time as the Surrey County Coaching Secretary.

Digital Pilot opportunity for development agency

England Athletics require a digital development agency to deliver a fit for purpose Officials' management and deployment system for an initial pilot project. The successful agency should challenge our thinking and ensure that the developed system is customer-focussed, delivering an optimised user journey for our Officials (volunteers).

Would your club or group really benefit from involving more officials, or do you know a club in your area that would? Are you unsure where to start to get more people involved? If so putting on an Officials Taster Session, could be a great way of raising awareness of the opportunities available and highlight what a positive experience officiating is! You can also access free resources from Team Personal Best to help with this or other types of activity.
