The personal bests and championship records continued to tumble on the second day of the New Balance English Schools' Track and Field 2018 Championships at Alexander Stadium, Birmingham.
When the first day of the New Balance English Schools' Track and Field Championships got underway at Birmingham the athletes made the most of the opportunity to show their talent. With a stack of field events finals throughout the day there was impressive action happening constantly.
The New Balance English Schools' AA Track and Field Championships 2018 will take place this Friday and Saturday 13-14th July at Alexander Stadium, Birmingham. Great Britain N.I. topped the medal table at the recent European U18 Championships Hungary underlining the wealth of talent emerging from the schools system in recent years. Many of those medallists are due to compete in Birmingham, which provides another chance to see future stars earn their stripes on a national level.
Allerton Junior Athletics Club continues to develop athletes at county standard. Head coach of AJAC Glen Hilton is very proud of his athletes' achievements especially as the Club has only been in operation for three years. Glen said "I just love watching athletes enjoy our sport, doing well and developing."
The Eveque World Marathon Challenge 2017/18 has been running as a virtual competition since October and so far 5 teams have broken the World Marathon Record. There is still time to test your team's mettle to see if you too can beat Dennis Kimetto's world record. Teams of between 26 and 36 members each run 200m sections in a continuous relay until the full marathon distance has been covered.
With Mental Health Awareness Week focusing on stress, and exam season upon students across the country, Beat Eating Disorders have produced a guide on exam stress and eating disorders. It covers issues to be aware of, as well as tips on studying, and supporting a friend or family member.
Lily Hill Park in Bracknell was the venue for the 21st running of the Bracknell Schools Invitation Cross Country Relays. There are 4 races which were all about team running as the athletes took on the woodland and meadow course in a relay format. This year the event was made possible through financial support from England Athletics.
A strong team was selected to represent England at the ISF World Schools Cross Country Championships in Paris on April 4 2018. The ten athletes were accompanied by Team Managers Anne Francis and Paul Allison.
Budding young athletes from across the UK are set to compete in the Sportshall Athletics UK Finals at Manchester's Regional Indoor Athletics Arena on the weekend of 14th and 15th April. The most promising young athletes will battle it out to be crowned UK Champions at the flagship athletics development event of the year.
Despite a Saturday that was set to be full of wind, rain and snow, just over 2,000 athletes turned up to the grounds of Temple Newsam, for the English Schools' Cross Country Championship 2018. In total there were 6 races, across tricky, muddy terrain, up and down hills. These testing conditions required perfect timing and judgement to be successful!
