Tri-Regional Groups

In England, coordination of the needs of officials is handled by the 3 Tri-Regional groupings which  are the Northern group (North East, North West and Yorkshire and Humberside), the Southern Group (East, London and South East) and the Midlands and South Western Group (East Midlands, West Midlands and South West), assisted by the County Officials' Secretaries which in some counties have dedicated endurance COfSecs for Endurance Officials. 

Appeals procedure for Officials

Only officials who hold a current licence from UK Athletics ("UKA") under the Technical Officials Licensing Scheme have the right to appeal

  • a decision by UKA either to withdraw the official’s licence for any period of time or permanently, to impose restrictions on it or to reduce the level at which an official is qualified.
  • a decision taken by the Technical Advisory Group which removes or limits the official from inclusion on the national list, the International Chief Officials Group list or the International Officials Group list.
