There was international success for Birtley Athlete Lydia Turner last weekend in Belgrade at the European Cross Country Championships. 17-year-old Lydia became Birtley's first full International athlete.

England Athletics is saddened by the news that Athletics and sports commentator David Coleman has died today aged 87. The "voice of a generation" was inducted into the first England Athletics Hall of Fame in 2008 for contributions to the sport of athletics.
