Regional coach and athlete workshop - Throws

Regional coach and athlete workshop - Throws

England Athletics will be hosting regional coach and athlete development workshops covering Discus, Shot, Javelin and Hammer.  These workshops are aimed at coaches who have completed the Athletics Coach qualification of the old level 2 and above.  We are pleased to announce our first date for this workshop.

The morning aspect of the workshop will address organisation of training (planning) and specifically how to develop athletic movement and motion (physical preparation). This will be followed by a practical session looking at assessing movement patterns for Shot and Javelin.  The afternoon will cover the nice to do’s and need to do’s of lifting and assessing movement patterns for Hammer and Discus.

Each coach that books onto the workshop can bring one athlete; this will be limited to the first 10 coaches on a first come first serve basis to make sure we can deliver a valuable learning experience to all the coaches.

This first of these workshops will take place on 26th November at Lee Valley and delivered by Rob Earle who is our Regional Coaching Lead for the South East and the former National Coach Mentor for hammer.  There is no charge to licensed coaches for his event.
