Help provide valuable insight and complete the 2017 Sports Club Survey

Help provide valuable insight and complete the 2017 Sports Club Survey

The Sport and Recreation Alliance is inviting your club to take part in the 2017 Sports Club Survey.  Any club which completes the survey before the deadline of Friday 19 January will be entered into a prize draw to win an iPad or cash* to spend on equipment.

The Sports Club Survey is a piece of research undertaken by the Alliance in partnership with Sport England that aims to assess the health of sport and recreation clubs across the country.  It features questions on a variety of topics such as membership and volunteer numbers, club finances, the key challenges sports clubs are facing and a clubs’ relationship with its local County Sports Partnership.

All the results of the survey will be used by Sport England, National Governing Bodies and other decision makers across the sector to inform activities and how to best support grassroots clubs up and down the country. This could be anything from how funding is made available to the grassroots end of the sector to how we tackle the pressures on facilities. Of course, to effectively do this, we need as many sport and recreation clubs as possible to share their challenges, experiences and insights.

The survey will take an estimated 20 minutes to complete. Respondents will have the option of saving their progress as they go along and to return to the survey at a later date. In order to complete the section about club finances (section E of the questionnaire), it is recommended that respondents have information about their finances to hand.

Pauline Donner, from Woodhall Spa Croquet Club, who won an iPad in one of the earlier prize draws, encourages you to complete the survey: "The Sports Club Survey was really easy and quick to complete. We are keen to grow and attract new members and I felt that completing the survey was a great opportunity to share the challenges we face as a club. Winning the iPad is great and it’s going to be really useful when we run tournaments, helping us keep track of the schedule and logging results.”

So, what are you waiting for? This is your chance to shape the future of the grassroots sport and recreation sector and you might even win a prize at the same time!

*Cash prizes comprise of three separate £25 sports equipment vouchers.
