First Team Personal Best event of the summer

First Team Personal Best event of the summer

Last week the Team Personal Best team braved the rain and the hail stones to take a trip to Sutcliffe Park Athletics Track for the first Team Personal Best event of the year.

Cambridge Harriers' Open Young Athlete Trials is an annual event which gives an opportunity to non-members and members to compete in a pre-season event. It’s a fantastic way for young people interested in athletics to come and give it a go, and get a feel of what an athletics track and field event is like.

“Cambridge Harriers are always looking to help youngsters improve and to enjoy the sport of athletics.” Cambridge Harriers' Chairman Mick Bon told us.

Arriving at Sutcliffe Park track we were thrilled to see so many young enthusiastic people eager to get started.  Cambridge Harriers pride themselves on offering athletics opportunities which are suitable for all standards. The event is made up of a mixture of Jumps, Throws and Track competition and many participants took part in more than one event. 62 young athletes attended the event and some fantastic results were produced.

A BIG thank you to Cambridge Harriers for having us, the 20 volunteers and officials that help make the event happen, and all the participants. We look forward to seeing some more Team Personal Best events this summer.
