Fantastic opportunity to be involved in the AAA Tom Pink Relays!
On Sunday 22nd October the AAA Tom Pink Relays are taking place at Lee Valley Athletics Centre and there is a fantastic opportunity to be able to volunteer at the event. This is a really great opportunity for anyone looking to find out more about officiating or gain their experiences for their officials' licence; come along and help officials throughout day at this great event!
What is the event about?
The AAA Tom Pink Relays is a series of fun relays and novel field events for the under 11 and under 13 age groups that have been held in major sporting venues in Manchester, Sheffield, Birmingham and London for the past ten years.
The relays provide a very important introduction for young athletes to be involved in competition at an early stage of their lives and provides an opportunity for them to experience the excitement of running on the tracks of large arenas like the ones that they have seen on television. The Tom Pink initiative has brought much fun and enjoyment already to many thousands of children and the popularity of the event continues to go from strength to strength.
What would your role be?
The organisers are looking for volunteers to help assist and learn from the officials at the event and ensure the events run smoothly and safely. You don’t need to have any specific qualifications, just an interest to learn and give officiating a try. You will be assisting qualified officials who will be able to give you all the support you need throughout the day.
