Christian Malcolm supports Athletics 365 in Cheshire and Merseyside

Wednesday 9th February 2011 will see both Cheshire and Merseyside Athletics networks host an exciting Athletics 365 Workshop, delivered by Scott Grace, the creator of the initiative.

The aim of the evening is to launch the Athletics 365 programme in both counties with all coaches who attend receiving a free Coach pack funded by the networks.  Over 30 coaches will be in attendance to work with Scott and learn everything they need to know about how to deliver the programme in their respective clubs.

Vicky Huyton, the network coordinator for both networks says “We are very grateful to Scott for making the trip up north to deliver this workshop and also very excited that we have some of the UKs best athletes to work with us on this.”

As part of the evening, coaches who attend will get the chance to have a Question and Answer session with three of Great Britain top athletes.

  • Christian Malcolm is one of Great Britain’s most successful 200m Sprinters, after becoming a double Junior World Champion in 1998, he continued his very successful career after reaching the final of the 200m in the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
  • Katarina Thompson is one of Great Britain’s most successful Junior athletes after winning Gold at the World Youth Championships in 2009 and more recently in 2010 winning Gold in the High Jump and Long Jump in the Aviva England U20 Indoor Championships.
  • Lisa Daley is a Visually Impaired Great Britain Sprinter and has competed all over the world in the 200 and 400m.  Her most recent achievements were reaching the final in the 200 and 400m at the IBSA European Championships in Greece.
