British Half Marathon Championships
We recently announced details of the upcoming England Athletics Half Marathon and 10M Championships. Details of the British Athletics Half Marathon Championships are also available.
The British Half Marathon Championships will take place as part of the Ikano Bank Robin Hood Half Marathon, in Nottingham, on Sunday 24th September. Top club runners will be in action and detail are available below for those who wish to be considered for an elite entry.
The event which is in its 37th year has always been renowned for providing one of the most picturesque runs in the country, and in 2017, competitors will once again be inspired by many of this historic city's most iconic sights.
Starting on the banks of the River Trent next to the imposing spectacle of Trent Bridge the route will take you past the famous Robin Hood statue and Nottingham Castle, before twisting through the leafy private residential area of the Castle grounds. From there runners can enjoy the breath-taking and scenic views of Wollaton Park with its herds of grazing deer and the imposing Wollaton Hall which will be familiar to many who have been to Wollaton Park in recent years for the ECCA National Cross Country, English Schools' AA Cross Country Championships or UK CAU Cross Country.
Nottingham University’s Jubilee Campus with its unusual buildings will take you by surprise and not forgetting the idyllic finish line riverside setting of Victoria Embankment which attracts hundreds of spectators and supporters and is the perfect day out for locals and visitors alike.
This year's route in full and other entry details are available from the event website at www.robinhoodhalfmarathon.co.uk. You can also follow the event on Facebook at www.facebook.com/RobinHoodMarathonandHalfMarathon/.
