England on the podium at Austria's Attnanger Mile

England Athletics sent a team of 4 men to compete in the Attnanger Mile event held in Austria last week on the 28th April.

The event was well supported and 8 nations were represented in the field of runners.

The medals were decided in the closing few metres of the race with England's Phil Norman's (North Devon AC, Coach: Mark Brace) final kick just not enough to catch Morocco's Razyn.

It was a battle for bronze as well for England, with Josh Carr (Thames Hare & Hounds, Coach: Philip O’Dell) just getting the better of Algeria's Anou Abderrahaman by just 2 tenths of a second for his podium place.

Mike Wilsmore (Bristol & West AC, Coach: Graeme Riley) took 7th place and Tommy Horton (Hallamshire Harriers, Coach: Bashir Hussain) came in 16th.

Bryan Clinton (Swindon Harriers) was Team Manager.
