National Coach and Athlete Development Workshops

These activities will be targeted at coaches with athletes on the Junior and/or Senior Talent Pathway. The aim of the events/workshops is to provide coaches and athletes with the opportunity to work together and examine the performance requirements of the event. The themes of each session will be based on the ‘What It Takes To Win Model’ for the event(s); Performance determinants (biomechanical, biomotor and technical abilities), Self & support (lifestyle, behaviours and environment). Each of the events will be led by England Athletics Talent Event Leads.

Regional Coach and Athlete Development Workshops

If you are a coach that works with athletes that are club level or regional level and are aged between 15 and 19 years old, and coach the long jump, triple jump, high jump or Pole Vault, then the Regional Coach and Athlete Training Days are for you. The aim of the sessions is to provide coaches with the opportunity to work together and examine and consider the technical and physical requirements the event. The theme of each session will look at the technical framework and the physical preparation of the event.

There are 3 progressive sessions per event and the days take place simultaneously at various locations on 2/3 October (session 1), 28 November (session 2), and 26/27 March 2022 (session 3).

Coach Webinars

The Coaching and Athlete Development Team provide coaches with more online learning and training opportunities – developing a regular programme of online coaching webinars hosted by one of our team or lead coaches.

The series of webinars focuses on a range of specific themes. The latest webinars on offer are featured in this schedule but please check back as details of more webinars are added regularly. If you missed anything, you can also use our Watch Again function. If you have any suggestions of topics that you’d like to see covered in our webinars, then submit your ideas via our online form.

Regional Online Coach Networks

England Athletics is hosting online coaching network sessions, led by the Regional Coach Leads (RCL) in jumps and combined events. The networks were established to offer coaches the opportunity to share good practice, discuss coaching questions or to have roundtable discussions about a particular subject. These meetings also offer the opportunity to receive support from the RCLs and other members of the group. Initially we are limiting the number of places to 20 coaches per session to ensure coaches have the opportunity to contribute to the discussion.

Event specific activity delivered by UK and world leading practitioners. Details are published as events are announced.

Coaching newsletter

The aim of the newsletter is to provide coaches with regular updates on jumps and combined events, which will include useful links to coach development opportunities and resources, along with competition and talent updates.
