An important part of being an affiliated athletics or running club is having appropriate welfare, safeguarding and disciplinary practices and policies in place.
This helps provide a safe environment for children and adults involved in the sport in any role. It also helps reassure those involved in the sport, whether as a participant or volunteer, that if any issues do arise the club and is well positioned to deal with them effectively.
England Athletics has guidance available for clubs to help them have appropriate practices and policies in place.
We recommend clubs, in particular, note the following pages on our website and the guidance they give:

Other information is also available on the other pages of the Compliance and Wellbeing section of our website.
