Good governance is about having the right structure, people and policies and procedures in place at your club. Whilst Athletics & Running Clubs are responsible for their own governance, England Athletics aims to support clubs to be well run by providing the following;
England Athletics wants to assist clubs to ensure they are operating in a safe and responsible way in accordance with the good governance code set out by Sport England and in line with relevant legislation by providing ‘Club Standards’. We recommend that all clubs adhere to these standards.
Club Governance Resources
To help clubs England Athletics have created a resource section on the website. The Governance resources include; Constitution advice and templates, club legal structures, dealing with club disputes, managing disciplinary hearings & committee structures.
Legal Advice through Muckle LLC
England Athletics has a legal advice services hotline for clubs which is operated by the leading law firm, Muckle LLP. Muckle LLP provides a FREE legal helpline for all Affiliated Clubs & Bodies and can support with club legal structures, committee structures and club disputes.
