I’ve been involved in athletics since a very young age (7 or 8 years old) and I’ve been lucky enough to try out almost every event out there, however it was clear which ones I was stronger at and which ones were probably not for me. My current main event is hammer throw although I’ve also had hurdles as a main event too.

My experience in the majority of events has luckily given me a large amount of knowledge across the whole sport - this encouraged me to start coaching. I now coach athletes from as young as 6 to as old as 14 and I’ve had the pleasure of team managing the u13 boys for my club.

My love for sport has helped me decide on a career path to go down. I hope to study either Sports Science or Sport Psychology in the future, however for now I’m taking PE, Biology, Psychology and Sociology as As Levels.

I decided to join the Athletics Youth Advisory Group as I would love to have an impact on the future of athletics. I hope to raise awareness in the stereotypes across the sport as addressing these problems may encourage athletes to try out events that they have originally not wanted to try out due to the stereotypes attached to the event. I’m most excited to learn about what other people think of the sport and how we can improve it, as well as see how much of an impact we can make.
