Starting gun fires for Road Running Roadshows

This week saw the first two of five England Athletics Road Running Roadshows take place in London and Peterborough.

The events, designed for members of road running clubs, road running coaches and leaders, event organisers and anyone else involved with off-track running, saw members of England Athletics staff outline the various programmes and initiatives that England Athletics delivers for the off-track community.

The events offered attendees a chance to discuss and feedback on these important areas of work, while there was also an athlete Q&A session with England representative runners at each location. In London, Tracy Barlow talked through her transition from enthusiastic club sprinter to GB international honours, while in Peterborough, Vicky Knight discussed her journey in the sport that culminated in her representing England as a senior athlete at the age of 40 last year.

The Road Running Roadshows continue next week with events in Exeter, Tamworth and Leigh. Go to www.englandathletics.org/RRR for more information and details of how to register.
